William K. Jones

          William “Bill” K. Jones, 75, of Gnadenhutten, died early Sunday morning of February 3, 2019 in Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center under the care of Community Hospice. Bill was born to the late William B. and Eula (Ankrom) Jones on June 28, 1943 in Dennison, Ohio. He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1961. Bill then joined the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam Era. He worked as an over the road truck driver for various companies, including Reese Trucking, Superior Clay, and Bryer Exchange. Bill was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

          Surviving are his wife of fifty five years, Janet (Reichman) Jones, whom he married on October 5, 1963, daughter Angela (Todd) Jones, two sons William (Cheri) Jones and Andy (Jamie Jenkins) Jones all of Gnadenhutten, grandchildren Whitney, Mitchell, Hailey, Samantha (Robert), Amanda, Emily, Joshua, and Jaclyn, siblings Gilmer (Lize) Parrish of Bridgeport, WV, Mary Petry of New Philadelphia, Cheryl (Jim) Larrison of Kimbolton, sister-in-law Joanne (Gene) Lenarz of Freeport, brothers-in-law Kenneth Reichman and Harry (Alona) Reichman of Gnadenhutten.

          Bill was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Parrish.

          Keeping with bill’s wishes, he will be cremated and then interred in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 1:00 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 114 North High Street, Port Washington, Ohio 43837 with a luncheon to follow in the church social hall. Rev. Robert Buckley will be officiating the service.
