Terry Lynn Weaver, 75, of Gnadenhutten died following a period of declining health on Wednesday morning of November 29, 2023, in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton.
He was born on September 26, 1948, at Twin City Hospital in Dennison to the late Fred and Grace (Conaway) Weaver. Terry grew up in Barnhill and attended school in Midvale. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. Following his discharge, Terry became an over the road truck driver, eventually becoming an owner operator. His trucking career spanned fifty years until his retirement in 2015. In his leisure time, Terry enjoyed riding his Harley’s, in which he and his wife had many adventures. He was a stock car racing fan and enjoyed attending the races at Midvale Speedway and following the NASCAR circuit. He enjoyed being a snowbird, camping and fishing in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Lake Okeechobee, Florida.
Surviving are Terry’s wife and fellow snowbird, Betsy (Johnson) Weaver, whom he married on Thanksgiving Day in 1996. Also surviving are his daughter Brenda Lee (Mark) Mowrer of Greenville, TN, stepdaughter Angela Sue Gray (Matthew Patterson) of Washington, PA, a son-in-law Christopher Smolak of Dennison, three grandchildren: Skyler Smolak, Sierra Smolak, and Devin Mowrer; a brother William Weaver of Barnhill, numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs Franny Farkel and Charlotte. Terry was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Along with his parents, Terry is preceded in death by a daughter Terri Lynette Smolak, and a brother David Weaver.
Terry will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held on a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Terry’s name to the Warwick Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, 397 East Ave., Gnadenhutten, Ohio 44629.
