Terry Sullivan Obituary

Terry Dean Sullivan, 79, entered the world as a wartime baby on July 8, 1942, and left quietly on June 15, 2022. He was a man of faith and confirmed at Port Washington Moravian Church, then became a member of St. Paul's UCC where he worshiped with his family for many years and led a full life of service to his loved ones and community.

Terry was a graduate of Port Washington High School, class of 1960, and soon married his wife of 58 years, Kathy. As a young man he was a barrel racer known for his prize winning quarterhorse Buckskin Bee, was active in local horse shows, and was affiliated with the Tuscarawas County Mounted Deputy Unit.

Making their life-long home in Port Washington, he worked locally at Goshen Brick and Heller Brothers. After the addition of his son and daughter, he settled into careers in plumbing and coal mining and was a valued employee with Valley Mining and Shanabrook Plumbing. He ended his professional life in 2004 at Roadway and Mclntire Plumbing.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Erma and Emerson Sullivan, sister Sue Sullivan, and brother-in-law Bradley Kaiser. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathy (Thomas) Sullivan, his son Dan Sullivan and wife Kristy of Port Washington, daughter, Ann Wenzel and husband Khevin of Dover, Ohio. Grandchildren Andrea Starr and husband TC of Nova, Ohio and Grace Wenzel of Dover, Ohio, two step-grandchildren Dillon and Alexis, and brother-in-law Joe and Anitra Thomas and sister-in-law Esther Kaiser, as well as his best friend Charles D. Mayse.

Terry was a handyman with his tool bag packed and ready to help with the next project. He was a major participant in the restoration of the St. Paul's church sanctuary and aided in years of work at the Union Hall in Port Washington. To continue his past contributions and commemorate Terry's life, friends may donate in his honor to Port Washington-Salem Historical Society or St. Paul's UCC, Port Washington.
