Paula J. (Renicker) Long

          Paula Jean (Renicker) Long, 68, of Uhrichsville, died at home surrounded by family on Friday afternoon of November 20, 2020 following a lengthy illness.

          Paula was a lifelong resident of the area. She was born in Dennison on November 29, 1951 to the late Harold “Sonny” Renicker and Gloria (Roseberry) Czatt. Paula was a 1970 graduate of Claymont High School. On June 14, 1970, just two weeks after graduation, Paula married the love of her life, William “Bill” Long, who survives. Together, they shared fifty years, raising their family and taking care of one another. They loved spending their time hosting friends and loved ones at the Clendening Lake Campgrounds. Paula was a devoted wife and mother. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed baking cakes as well. Paula baked the wedding cakes for each of their children's weddings, stacked high and decorated with her delicious homemade buttercream icing. Paula spent most of her years as a homemaker, but she did work outside of the home at many different jobs over the years, including a pizza shop, and some factory work, before an injury retired her back to the home.

           Along with her husband, Paula is survived by three children: Dawnette Lynn Welch and companion Andy Ritz of Logan, Ohio, Billi Jo Long of Massillon, Ohio, and William Andrew “Andy” Long II and wife Amanda of Newcomerstown; six grandchildren: Courtney Jean Welch, Chase Lee Jenkins, Alexa Renae Long with companion Matthew Troyer, Alayna Kaye Long, Caitlynn Marie Long with companion Brett Patterson, and William Andrew “Drew” Long III, many other special grandchildren; three siblings: Vicki Harris and husband Phil, Kevin Renicker and wife Shelley, and Georgia Gordon and husband Dan; and eight brothers and sisters in law: June and Dave Davis, Betty and Everett Holland, Carol Hunt, Kenny and Debi Long, and Vivian Long.

          Paula was preceded in death by her parents, mother- and father-in-law Robert and Alice Long, sister-in-law Joann Mattison, and brother-in-law Robert E. Long.

          A time for the public to pay their respects to Paula is scheduled for Friday, November 27, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Koch Funeral Home, LLC of Gnadenhutten, 244 North Walnut Street, Gnadenhutten, Ohio 44629. There will be a private graveside service held at Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery at a later date.
