She was born on September 12, 1958, in Dennison, Ohio to the late Leroy E. and Mildred V. (Peeper) Dickinson. Laura graduated from Indian Valley South in 1977 and married her husband, John Casteel, who survives, on October 8th of that year.           In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by a brother, David Dickinson.

Laura was a homemaker, being many things to the loved ones in her life. Over the years, she also spent time as a volunteer teacher’s aide and an apple picker in the orchard near her childhood home.  Laura was a loving wife, mom, and grandmother to her family, with whom she enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, and shooting. She was quick to keep up on Facebook, loving to watch the activities and stories in her friends and families lives. She and John were 4-H advisors for the Ridge Valley Winners II for several years. They were members of the West Union United Methodist Church. In her leisure time, Laura enjoyed reading Amish books and working on puzzles.
