Jan Beal Obituary

            Jan L. Beal, 66, of Tuscarawas, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning on October 5, 2019 in Cleveland Clinic following complications after a surgery to help her fight with cancer.

            Jan was born in Athens, Ohio to the late James and Berdena (Thompson) Duncan on June 6, 1953. She was a graduate of Indian Valley South High School in 1971 and went on to earn a certification as a Medical Assistant from the Buckeye Career Center. She worked as a Medical Assistant for twenty one years, retiring from the New West Physicians in Arvada, Colorado.

            Jan enjoyed crocheting as a hobby, but most of her spare time was devoted to spending time with her family. She loved spending as much time with her children and grandchildren as she could. When she wasn’t with her immediate family, she spent time participating in the activities of the Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship Church, where she was a member. Jan also took pleasure in hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Parks while living in Colorado.

            Surviving are husband, Ted Beal, whom she was married to for thirty-eight years, and celebrated their anniversary on January 31st of every year. Also surviving are three children: Becky (John) Peach of Newcomerstown, Jennifer Long of Coshocton, and Matt (Rhonda) Long of Louisville; two step-sons: Ken (Cindy) Beal of Quaker City and Chuck Beal; seven grandchildren: Jacob Peach, Alex Kurucz (fiancé Breanna), Hayden Kurucz, Chance (Tina) Long, Jacque (Coleman) Hawkins, Robby Long, and Logan Long; step-grandson Kevin Beal, a great grandson Bowen Beal, another great grandchild that is on the way; sister Linda (Jim) Egler of Uhrichsville, brother-in-law Jerry Conaway, and niece Kerry (Michael) Whytsell.

            Along with her parents, Jan was preceded in death by a sister Pam Conaway.

            Following Jan’s wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship, 132 Kutchem Drive, Uhrichsville, Ohio 44683. Bishop Tom Klaserner and Pastor Jimmy Stull will officiate the service. Memorial contributions in Jan’s honor can be made to the Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship.
