Edward N. “Ted” Beal, 77, of Louisville, formerly of Tuscarawas and Gnadenhutten, died Wednesday afternoon of February 9, 2022, in Green Meadows Health and Wellness in Louisville.
Ted was born in Lafferty, Ohio to the late Virgil J. Sr. and Jane (Simmons) Beal. He served his country in the United States Army for nearly three years before the end of his term in 1963. Once home, Ted then went to work as a heavy equipment operator at many of the local strip mines, retiring after over forty years in 2008. Ted enjoyed tinkering with R.C. cars and helicopters and being a HAM (amateur radio) operator. He liked watching NASCAR and racing with his brothers. He loved to travel; it didn’t matter where, just so long as he was in the car and moving. Most of all, Ted was passionate about church and attending the Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship services as much as possible.
Surviving are children: Ken (Cindy) Beal of Quaker City, Chuck Beal, Becky (John) Peach of West Lafayette, Jennifer Long of Coshocton, and Matt (Rhonda) Long of Louisville; grandchildren: Jacob Peach, Alex Kurucz, Hayden Kurucz, Chance (Tina) Long, Jacque (Coleman) Hawkins, Robby Long, Logan Long, and Kevin (Hannah) Beal; great-grandsons: Bowen Beal and Joseph Long; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Jim Egler, brother-in-law Jerry Conaway, and several nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-eight years, Jan (Duncan) Beal, who died in October of 2019, and his siblings: Jim, David, Parker, Virgil Jr., and Iona.
In keeping with Ted’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
