Donald “Don” “Pappy” R. Naylor, 68, of Port Washington, died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday morning of July 17, 2018. Don was born on September 12, 1949 in Dennison, Ohio to the late Bruce R. and Madeline Dean (McDaniel) Naylor. He attended Indian Valley High and lived in the area all of his life. Don was an independent contractor as a tractor trailer operator, hauling loads for various companies over the years before retiring in 1994. Prior to driving truck, Don worked for a sawmill company and also as a police officer for West Lafayette for a few years.
Don enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a part of the Pack Rats motorcycle club. He also enjoyed going to tractor pulls and being part of the Harrison County Garden Tractor Pullers. Don liked going hunting with his family and friends as well.
Surviving are Don’s companion of fourteen years, Paula “Polly” Leggett, sons Donald Bruce (Lori) Naylor and Michael Naylor both of Gnadenhutten, daughter Rebecca (Travis) Arnold of West Lafayette, step-son Derek (Holly) Leggett of Uhrichsville, grandchildren Brian, Brittany (Angel), Ashley (Justin), Elektra and Rebella, step-grandchild Emma, great-niece Kaley, great-nephew Roger Jr., sister Judy Naylor, his favorite buddy Jason Edwards, and his dogs Lilly and Sissy.
Don is only preceded in death by his parents.
In following Don’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
