Amy M. (Kochman) Haney

          Amy M. (Kochman) Haney, 47, of Gnadenhutten, died unexpectedly on Saturday January 15. 2022 at Trinity West in Steubenville following a brief but hard-fought, COVID-19 related illness.

          Amy was born December 10, 1974, at Twin City Hospital, a daughter to Thomas and Cynthia (Schreiner) Kochman, who survive. Beginning at age 3 and throughout her school years, Amy was an active dancer, participating in jazz, tap, ballet, and baton. She was also a cheerleader from the time she joined the peewee squad, through her graduation from Indian Valley High School in 1993. Following graduation, Amy attended college classes at Kent State University. Amy went on to work in the automotive parts industry at Cooper Standard for many years in extrusion.

          Amy loved the outdoors and spending her time caring for animals. She rescued many animals at the Humane Society over the years. Amy also enjoyed hunting, especially with her bow. When relaxing at home, she loved to spend time with her son watching movies and T.V. shows.

          In addition to her parents, Amy is survived by her son, Garrett Haney, of the home; her companion, Troy Maurer of Gnaden; a brother, Adam (Keeley) Kochman of Gnaden; as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

          Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents: George and Georgeanna Kochman and Daniel and Shirley Schreiner.

          A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, with Rev. Tom Klaserner officiating, at the Koch Funeral Home of Gnadenhutten, 244 N Walnut St. Gnadenhutten, Ohio 44629. A time for calling hours will be held following the service from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Amy will be cremated and then a burial at Gnadenhutten Clay-Union Cemetery will be held. Memorial contributions may be made on Amy’s behalf to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Rd. NE New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
