William "Bill" Kilchenman, 91, of Gnadenhutten passed away at the Hospice Truman House on March 19 ^th .

Born August 22, 1926 in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late William and Gertrude (Morrison) Kilchenman. Bill was also preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Jane Kohl and Virginia Parrish and one brother, Edwin Biggs.

Bill is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen (Alred) Kilchenman, whom he married on March 12, 1948.

Surviving children - Timothy (Suzanne) of Wilmington, NC; Thomas (Lori Baukus) of Avon, Ohio. Six grandchildren – William, Hanah, Marco, Kristina Briseno, Paige and Reese (Tyra) and two great grandchildren.  There are numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was a resident of Tuscarawas County throughout his life and graduated from Gnadenhutten High School in 1944.

Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the destroyer escort, Otterstetter, in the Pacific theater from 1944 – 1946.

Bill was a driver and sales manager for the Goshen Dairy for 43 years.  He was a member of the John Heckewelder Memorial Moravian Church where he served on the board of Trustees and Elders.  Bill was also a member of the Ohio American Legion and the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association.  Bill enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, gardening, traveling, watching Ohio State football and helping others.

In keeping with Bill's wishes there will be no public visitation and a private service will be held.

Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia or the Gnadenhutten Moravian Church.
