Ruth M. "Stuckey" Davis, 88, of Gnadenhutten, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday, August 30, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio on August 16, 1928 to the late Fred P. and Zola Lucile (Sanders) Stuckey.

She was a graduate of the 1946 class of Tuscarawas High School, where she enjoyed participating in the band and orchestra, playing both the violin and French horn.  Ruth went on to work at G.E., Belmont Enamel, where she made pots and pans from enamel, and several local restaurants, working as a waitress. Her favorite of those was at Harry Clever Field, where she delighted in a plane ride from Harry himself.

Ruth spent most of her life as a homemaker, devoting her time to caring for her home and her family. She was a lover of the outdoors, enjoying working in flower beds and tending to an assortment of different plants. Ruth loved books. She was an avid reader, enjoying a variety of Christian books, even amassing her very own library of books. Ruth was a member of the Uhrichsville Foursquare Church.

Ruth would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this year with her loving husband, Charles Davis of the home. They were married on October 4, 1952. Together, they have three sons, Richard R. Davis of Hartville, Fred P. Davis of Gnadenhutten, and Jeffrey P. Davis of New Philadelphia. Ruth is a grandmother to Morgan Davis, Jaclyn Davis, and Ryan C. Davis.  She was a great-grandmother to Jaiden and Micah.

Ruth was predeceased by her sister, Thelma Stuckey.

Services for Ruth will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 12:00 PM at the Uhrichsville Foursquare Church with Pastor Florence Fellers McNutt officiating. Burial will follow at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Family and friends will be received for visitation one hour prior to the services. Memorial contributions to honor Ruth may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County or Uhrichsville Foursquare Church.
