Ruth Hannah Crahan, age 95, of Gnadenhutten died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center, Uhrichsville. She was born on February 25, 1918 in Rush Township near Stillwater, Ohio to the late James W. Fouts and Mary O. (Bennett) Fouts – Taylor.
Ruth married the late George Crahan on June 17, 1961. Being a lifetime member of the area, Ruth was a former member of the Uhrichsville Nazarene Church where she worked on the Home Department of the church helping shut-ins for many years. She also attended the Full Gospel Church in Gnadenhutten. Ruth worked for Tusco in Gnadenhutten for 11 years, and during World War II she worked at Timken. She enjoyed taking care of her pets, loved working outdoors, and attending to songbirds.

Ruth is survived by three sisters-in-law: Lowella Fouts of Gnadenhutten, Betty Crahan of Gnadenhutten, and Sylvia Taylor of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, who passed away on February 21, 1970, Ruth was preceded in death by four brothers: Herbert Fouts, Robert Fouts, Harvey Fouts, and James Taylor; three sisters: Susan Fouts, Odessa Willer, and Erma Berger; and two step sisters: Vera Vansickle and Clara Howitz.

Services will be held at the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Susan Stevens officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to hospice or the charity of the donor's choice.
