Craig Eugene Fawcett, 67, of Wainwright, died following a period of declining health on Wednesday evening of July 17, 2024, in Aultman Hospital with his daughter by his side.

Born in Dennison at Twin City Hospital on April 18, 1957, Craig was one of three children to the late Harold "Dean" E. and Norma Jean (Morrison) Fawcett. He is also preceded in death by his brother Danny Dean Fawcett, nephew Roger Dean Hindman, and brother-in-law Donald Hooper.

Surviving are his daughter Rachelle (Tony) Lynch of Gnadenhutten, step-children: Brent (Anna) Cross of Tuscarawas, and Tonya (Eric) Mangus of Gnadenhutten; grandchildren: Lauryn Lynch and Braxton Lynch; step-grandchildren: Cassidy Cross, Madison Mangus, and MaKenna Mangus; step-great grandson Ronan, sister Trina Hooper of New Philadelphia, niece Chantel (Keith) Gram, great nephew Kyle (Esther) Gram, great niece Kaylee (fiancé Alex Louis) Gram, and special friend Becky Chini.

Craig was an avid outdoorsman, one who could survive off the land. He loved to hunt, trap, and fish for wild game and was a mentor to many individuals who were interested in such. He would also spend time searching for mushrooms, ginseng, and arrowheads while out in the woods. To go along with his love for the outdoors, Craig was an enthusiastic collector of firearms and enjoyed going to gun trade shows and swap meets. When he wasn't outdoors, he spent time as a member of the Tuscarawas V.F.W. Post 7943, the Tuscarawas County Coin Club and a former member of the Uhrichsville Moose.

In keeping with his wishes, Craig will be cremated, and a private burial of his remains will take place in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Tuscarawas V.F.W. Post 7943, 421 N. Main Street, Tuscarawas, Ohio 44682. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas V.F.W. Post 7943.
