Obituary

Bernard (Wayne) Peoples, 85, of Dover, Ohio and a longtime resident of Gnadenhutten, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 30, 2021 at Hennis Care Center in Bolivar surrounded by family. He was the son of the late James Leslie and Lois Peoples. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene (Catherine) Peoples of Uhrichsville, Ohio.

Surviving is his wife Charlotte "Cam" Peoples of Dover, Ohio. Cam was the love of his life and they celebrated 57 years of marriage. It was a marriage made in heaven that was beautiful and rare. Also surviving are four sons: Tim (Heidi) Peoples, Village of Summit, Wisconsin, Todd (Heather) Peoples of McKinney, Texas, Troy (Peggy) Peoples, Dover, Ohio, and Mark (Amy) Peoples of Dover, Ohio.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Jessica (Chad) Yates, Jordan, Connor, Colton, Hannah, Chase, Ryan, Colin, and Carson Peoples, as well as 6 great-grandchildren.

Wayne retired from the Timken Bearing plant in New Philadelphia after 40 years of service. He was devoted to community service where he was a volunteer at Union Hospital, and a Trustee at Gnadenhutten Methodist Church. Wayne also invested in the youth by being a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader, and a little league coach for many years. His favorite hobbies were bass fishing, blue birds, and spending time with his family and pets (Maisy and the late Sadie Faye).

The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Koch Funeral Home, LLC of Gnadenhutten from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church, 220 N. Walnut Street, Gnadenhutten, Ohio 44629 at 10:00 A.M. officiated by Pastor Ryan Cockrill. Burial will follow the service at Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery, Gnadenhutten, Ohio.
