Obituary

Andrew "Andy" A. Troyer, 80, of Sugarcreek passed away early Monday morning on September 5, 2022, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.

Andy was born on May 13, 1942, to the late Abe and Lucinda (Sommers) Troyer in New Bedford in Coshocton County. He attended the Barsmill School and then went to work as a hired hand for various farms before becoming employed as a heavy equipment operator for Wilmot Mining and Miller Mining and Gravel Pit. He retired in 2007, after 38 years in the strip mines. Andy enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially the fishing trips to Canada and he was a member of the Kimbolton United Methodist Church.

Surviving are Andy's wife, Esta (Hershberger), whom he married on November 7 th , 1963, and enjoyed fifty-eight years together. Also surviving are two children: Vicki Lynn (Kip) Engles of Kimbolton, and Randy Lee (Bonnie) Troyer of Zoarville; a daughter-in-law Robin Troyer of Port Washington, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters: Ada (Frank) Scherer and Erma (Ervin) Miller; a sister-in-law Barbara (Abe) Troyer, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Andy is preceded in death by a son Tony Troyer, and nine siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 12:00 P.M., at Koch Funeral Home of Gnadenhutten, 244 N. Walnut Street, Gnadenhutten, Ohio 44629, with Rev. Paul Gerycz officiating. Calling hours will be held two hours prior to the services from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery in Gnadenhutten.
