Raymond A. Miller, 62, of Gnadenhutten, died unexpectedly at home on his family farm Thursday, October 6, 2016. Raymond was born at Twin City Hospital in Dennison to the late Lester R. and Pearle I. (Fisher) Miller on March 13, 1954. The Miller family moved to the current family farm where Raymond lived when he was one year old and he has lived there ever since. Raymond graduated from Indian Valley South in 1972. He was and enjoyed being a heavy equipment operator for the oilfields, the coal mines, and most recently Stocker Sand and Gravel where he retired after twenty eight years there. Raymond was into anything MOPAR related, Farmall tractors, sitting on the front porch with family and friends, and spending time with and spoiling his grandsons.

Raymond was a husband to Amy (Bartles), whom he married on June 13, 1981. He was father to Sarah (Michael) Cady of Gnadenhutten, and Jen (Josh) Simmerman of Peoli, grandfather to Jaxon and Garrett Cady, brother to Marlene Miller, Rosemary Clark, June (Jim) Wickiser, and Gayle Goodwin, brother-in-law to Bob Wells, Dale Everett, John Bartles, and Sharon Miller, son-in-law to FeFe Bartles, and an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, and a friend to many.

Preceding Raymond in death are sisters, Shirley Wells and Linda Everett, a brother L. Frank Miller, and a brother-in-law Jack Goodwin.

In keeping with Raymond’s wishes he will be cremated and a gathering around a fire to celebrate his life will be held on the family farm, 675 River Road SW, Gnadenhutten, Ohio 44629, on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 2 PM until 5 PM.
