Molly Jeen (Metzger) Tevis passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Molly is survived by her husband, Paul Tevis, whom she married February 18, 1984, daughters: Lindsey (Adam) Kovacs, Ashley Tevis, and Emily (Greg) Reichman; grandchildren: Benjamin and Milo Kovacs and Beau and Norah Reichman; as well as her brothers: John (Dee) Metzger and Jim (Brenda) Metzger. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Marjorie Metzger and brother Thomas Metzger.
Molly Jeen was born October 14, 1957, and raised in Gnadenhutten, Ohio. She was the third born child and only daughter of John and Marj. She was always active and energetic and had no problem keeping up with her brothers. She was involved in many sports throughout her youth including volleyball and basketball, even attending the University of Akron to play her freshman year. She would be so excited every year for her annual family trip to the beach and Christmas at her home where she would decorate from floor to ceiling and make every moment magical.
Most will remember her as being an artisan. She was able to sew, build, make, paint, or fix just about anything and would always make it look so effortless. She took her passion for crafting and design and turned it into multiple business ventures, including event planning, decorating, and selling her beautiful handmade crafts. She was an incredibly hard worker and always preferred to stay busy and have multiple projects to focus on and was always willing to help out her friends and family with their work, as well. She was endlessly generous and always kind. She had unending patience, was unwaveringly optimistic and a loyal and faithful friend, especially to her best friends, Gale Stull, Amy Miller, and the rest of the Indian Valley South Class of ’76.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren. She instilled in all of them the importance of working hard and trying your best in everything that you do, that playtime is just as important as worktime, that you can do anything you put your mind to, and that if you can be anything, be kind. There are an infinite number of things that can be said about Molly, but one thing that can be said for certain is that she was so very loved by everyone that had the good fortune of knowing her and will be deeply missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. held at the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church, 220 N. Walnut Street, with Pastor Jimmy Stull officiating. Burial will follow in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery. Visitation, also at the church, will be Thursday, June 1st, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
