Kenneth Reichman Obituary

Kenneth Ray Reichman, 82, of rural Gnadenhutten, died at home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, under the care of Traditions Health.

Ray was born at home in Lock Seventeen on May 24, 1940 to the late Kenneth H. and Una G. (Huebner) Reichman. He graduated from Tuscarawas-Warwick High School in 1959 and then went to work. Ray started as a heavy equipment operator for Ben Cookson Inc., where he was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers, then he purchased his own mining equipment and mined all around the surrounding areas, including the family farm. After the mining, Ray went to work for Indian Valley Schools as a bus mechanic, and then worked at Newton Asphalt before retiring. He liked to work with wrenches, and it didn’t matter what it was. Ray also enjoyed his old Chevy’s, particularly the ’55 and ’57 models. In his later years, he went for trips out west to New Mexico to visit family, and he loved to spend time with all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are three children: Leslie (Ken) Rowland of New Philadelphia, Dale (Joleen) Reichman of Gnadenhutten, and Tim (Michelle) Reichman of Dennison; a daughter-in-law Daphne Reichman of Gnadenhutten, ten grandchildren: Matthew (Brittany) Rowland, Eric (Mckenzie) Rowland, Clay (Sami) Reichman, Lacy (Jeff) McGrath, Kendra (Tyler) Folnsbee, Allie (Mike) Caldwell, Brittany (Mitch) Kauffman, Kasey (Mike) Tidrick, Shania (George) Brode, and Brooke Reichman; step-granddaughter Jenna, twenty-two great-grandchildren: Loftyn, Lennon, Chanel, Maddox, Journey, Kruz, Laynee, Reicher, Rylee, Kenley, Ashton, Grant, Knox, Hunter, Holden, Easton, Auston, Kaston, Madisyn, Noelle, Bryndal, and Kansas; four step-great-grandchildren: Brennan, Carson, Taytumm, and Ledger; three siblings: Joanne (Gene) Lenarz, Janet Jones, and Harry (Alona) Reichman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Lou Ford, to whom he was married to for forty-seven years before she died on January 24, 2010, his son Kenny “Bub” Reichman, daughter-in-law Carrie Reichman, a sister Alma Elizabeth Reichman, and a brother-in-law Bill Jones.
