Winifred “Winnie” June (Davis) Baker, 89, of Gnadenhutten, died on Monday, August, 31 at The Inn at Northwood Village, in Dover. She was born on November 25, 1925 in Gnaden to the late Fred and Ida (Bucher) Davis. Winnie graduated from Gnaden High School in 1942. She married the late Eugene F. Baker on February 12, 1947, and celebrated 54 years of marriage. She was an active member of the Gnaden Moravian Church, its Women’s Fellowship, and a homemaker.

            Surviving are three daughters: Dorothy (Rick) Kilpatrick, of Uhrichsville; Carolyn (Randy) Zehnder, of Strasburg; and Sandy (Dan) Petrella, of New Philadelphia; eight grandchildren: Dawn Marie Vlchek, Richard Baker, Kevin (Betsy) Baker, Justin (Jade) Kilpatrick, Charles (Stephanie) Kilpatrick, Troy Zehnder, Rev. Jay (Erin) Petrella, and Laura (James Kurtz) Petrella; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister; Geneva Keffer, of Port Washington and numerous nieces and nephews.

            Along with her husband and parents, Winnie was preceded in death by a son, Don Baker, six sisters, and two brothers.

            Services for Winnie will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at the John Heckewelder Memorial Moravian Church with Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Gnaden Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 AM to time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Community Hospice, or The Gnaden Moravian Church.
