Virginia Louise (Page) Huebner, aged 87, of Gnadenhutten, went home to her Lord and Savior on the evening of Monday, March 13, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 4, 1929 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, a daughter to the late Ernest James and Nellie Eunice (Heck) Page.
Virginia was a graduate of the class of 1947 at Uhrichsville High School. She went on to become a Registered Nurse and worked for a short time at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Her life’s work though, was as a homemaker. On January 2, 1951, Virginia married Raymond Eugene Huebner. Together, they began a family and lived all their married life together in Gnadenhutten. Raymond preceded her in death on July 31, 2009, after 58 years of marriage.
Virginia was active in the Moravian Church and the Evening Circle Women’s Fellowship. As hobbies, she enjoyed word puzzles, adult coloring, and collecting bird figures. She enjoyed taking trips to Devil’s Den, Cleveland Zoo, and to see baseball games in Pittsburgh. Most of all, Virginia delighted in her family. She liked her coffee, rocking in her chair, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play.
Virginia is survived by her children, Sarah & Mark Mathias of Gnadenhutten, Mark & Polly Huebner of Lugoff, South Carolina, Kevin & Chris Huebner of Uhrichsville, Kenneth & Darlene Huebner of Richmond, and Karen & Rick Reichman of Uhrichsville, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, a sister-in-law, Joan Page of Florida, and a brother-in-law, Bill Pongratz of Uhrichsville. In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Page and a sister Emma Lee Pongratz.
Friends may call upon the family in the lower chapel of the John Heckewelder Memorial Moravian Church on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. Services for Virginia will be held in the Moravian Church Sanctuary on Saturday, March 18 at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev.
