          Mary Jane Henderson, 90, of Gnadenhutten, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 17, 2015. Jane was born in Tampa Florida on March 10, 1925 to the late William J.M. and Mary Wightman Clark. She graduated in 1942 from Monongahela High School in Pennsylvania and from Duff’s Business Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jane was a career secretary. She worked six years for West Penn Power, in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, nineteen years at the Polk Run Presbyterian Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania, and twenty two years for the Tuscarawas County Regional Planning Commission and  Tuscarawas County Water and Sewer District. Jane retired in 1991. She was an active member of the Gnaden United Methodist Women, and the Naomi Circle, a member of the Gnaden Women’s Club, volunteered at the Twin City Coffee Bar, and she was a Girl Scout leader in Pennsylvania and Gnaden. Jane enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, and baking. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

            Jane married Dallas E. Henderson Jr. on June 1, 1949. He died on April 21, 1976.

            Surviving are two daughters; Pam (Tom) Shroyer, of New Philadelphia, and Nancy “Karen” Lahmers, of Gnaden, five grandchildren; Amy (Dale) Huprich, Jennifer (Dan) Peveto, Jeff (Mandy) Shroyer, Andy (Fiancé Brittany Booth) Lahmers, and Josh (Molly O’Sullivan) Lahmers, and five great-grandchildren; Kyle and Emily Huprich, Thomas and Matthew Peveto, and Nathan Shroyer.

            Jane was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

            Services for Jane will be at 11:00 AM Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Gnaden United Methodist Church, with Pastor Seth Filburn officiating. Burial will follow in Gnaden Cemetery. Calling hours, also at the church, will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 20, 2015. Memorial Contributions may be made to Gnaden United Methodist Church, or the Gnaden United Methodist Women.
