LaVerne R. (Poole) Hamilton, 70, of Canton, gained her angel wings Thursday July 2, 2015, with her two children by her side, after a battle with cancer. LaVerne was born in East Liverpoole, Ohio on August 19, 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents James Poole and Leona (Rice) Poole. LaVerne grew up in Oklahoma and Massillon, OH. She graduated from Washington High School in 1962. LaVerne worked for PJ Bordner's Grocery store and attended Stark Technical College. For many years she loved to sew, crotchet, knit, and draw. Her greatest joys were her two children and grandson.

          She is survived by her children and their spouses Lori (Kevin) Kay of Fort Worth, TX, Kiley (Traci) Hamilton and grandson Colin Jay of Geneva, IL, her sister Karen (Poole) Gowins of Gnadenhutten, OH and her brother Schuyler Emerick of Minneola, FL. There will be no calling hours and services are private. The family asks that donations be made to Great Lakes Hospice in LaVerne's name.
