Jewell E. "Judy" Jones, age 80, of Port Washington, formerly of the Uhrichsville and Midvale areas, died at home Friday, July 11, 2014. She was born in Barnhill, Ohio on April 4, 1934 to the late James David Smitley and Harriet Ida Ohler.

            Judy worked at Miller's Restaurant in Uhrichsville, H.L. Green’s, Carnes Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide for ten years, the Newcomerstown Truck Stop, and many years in sales, selling Cookware, Tupperware, and Park Lane Jewelry.

            Judy married the late George F. Jones Sr. on July 28, 1951, in Dennison, Ohio. She was a member and former president of the Uhrichsville Moose, a member of the Dennison Eagles, a former member of the Newcomerstown Lion’s Club, and a member of the Newcomerstown Senior Citizens. Judy enjoyed computers, bingo, country music, singing, and playing the steel guitar for WTNS in Coshocton in 1949.

            Judy is survived by five children: Patricia Jones of Dundee, George (Jeanette) Jones Jr. of Uhrichsville, Andrea “Ann” Nalley of Dennison, Gregory (Sharon) Jones Sr. of Port Washington, and Jimmie (Dawna) Jones of Tuscarawas; 19 Grandchildren, 33 Great-Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

            Along with her parents and husband who died on August 5, 2002, Judy is preceded in death by one brother, Willard Dale. 

               Services for Judy will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, 26 Grant Street, Dennison, Ohio 44621, with Pastor Duane Quesenberry officiating. Calling hours will be on Monday, July 14, 2014 at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
