Alice Margaret Griffith Long, 85, of Gnadenhutten, died late Tuesday night June 23, 2015 in the Community Hospice House, New Philadelphia. She was born January 29, 1930 to the late William Pearl and late Bertha Sula (Berger) Griffith, in Guernsey County Ohio. Alice graduated from Gnadenhutten High School in 1947. She married her late husband, Robert Lee Long, on March 2, 1947, to whom she was married to for thirty three years before he died in 1980. Also, she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school, and was part of the Gleaner’s Sunday School Class. Alice had a very green thumb when it came to gardening, growing many vibrant flowers and a full garden of vegetables, which she enjoyed canning as well. Alice was an avid quilter too. She made a quilt for each of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Alice walked to get her mail and mowed her yard up until the doctor finally told her not to anymore. Even still, she tried to figure out a way to mow while using her walker.
